Will putting a painkiller under your tongue give a stronger or quicker effect?

I recently got a plate and 6 screws put in for my snapped clavicle. I've been reading that pills absorbed via under the tongue are absorbed directly into the blood system b/c of the artery. Is this true with pain killers? Will this cause a stronger/quicker effect b/c it doesn't have to travel through all of digestive tract?
