I'd like to know how the Russia-Georgia conflict began and your opinions.?

Well Georgia was moving in a very pro U.S./N.A.T.O direction. Fearing Georgia would become a member of N.A.T.O,and not wanting the enemy(U.S. and N.A.T.O) stationed on their border. The Russians jumped at the first opportunity they had (South Ossetia). That was the Russians excuse to invade Georgia. They said they supported South Ossetian Independence. Sure maybe they wanted to annex Georgia and make them a part of Russia again,but whatever reason why they didn't want Georgia to be a member of N.A.T.O. So they invaded and sent a message to the west. They made it very clear that they were in charge of their region. I personally support Georgia becoming a member of N.A.T.O. I don't like it when bullys(Russia) pick on our friends(Georgia).
